Best Paloma Summer Cocktail

So I was out the other night at a networking event fundraising for breast cancer. After a brief walk in the Florida heat, it was time for a drink. What would seem refreshing after sweating during the walk, and then being hit by another one of those lovely Florida afternoon rain showers, aka monsoon?
How about a Paloma cocktail! Delicious, refreshing, and easy to recreate at home. Here’s how:
Ingredients:
2 oz. Tequila
2 oz. fresh grapefruit juice, plus wedges for garnish
2 oz. sparkling water
½ oz. fresh lime juice
¼ agave nectar or simple syrup
Coarse sea salt for the rim of the glass
Ice
And for a little kick, a few jalapeno slices
Directions:
Rub the edge of a highball glass or margarita glass with grapefruit wedge, then place the edge of the rim on a small plate of salt
Mix the Tequila, grapefruit juice, lime juice, agave nectar or simple syrup, in the glass - stirring to combine the ingredients
Then add ice to fill the remainder of the glass
If you like a little kick (like me), add a few slices of jalapeno
Garnish with a wedge of grapefruit or lime
And voila, you have the perfect summer drink!
