Best Paloma Cocktail for the Summer

So I was out the other night at a networking event fundraising for breast cancer. After a brief walk in the Florida heat, it was time for a drink. What would seem refreshing after sweating during the walk, and then being hit by another one of those lovely Florida afternoon rain showers, aka monsoon?

How about a Paloma cocktail! Delicious, refreshing, and easy to recreate at home. Here’s how:

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. Tequila

  • 2 oz. fresh grapefruit juice, plus wedges for garnish

  • 2 oz. sparkling water

  • ½ oz. fresh lime juice

  • ¼ agave nectar or simple syrup

  • Coarse sea salt for the rim of the glass

  • Ice

  • And for a little kick, a few jalapeno slices

Directions:

  • Rub the edge of a highball glass or margarita glass with grapefruit wedge, then place the edge of the rim on a small plate of salt

  • Mix the Tequila, grapefruit juice, lime juice, agave nectar or simple syrup, in the glass - stirring to combine the ingredients

  • Then add ice to fill the remainder of the glass

  • If you like a little kick (like me), add a few slices of jalapeno

  • Garnish with a wedge of grapefruit or lime

And voila, you have the perfect summer drink!
